WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED September 10, 2005

HOW IT HAPPENED Tyler surprised Melissa with a weekend at the Renaissance Hotel in Oklahoma City. Saturday afternoon, after the OU football game, Tyler went over to Melissa’s house and began packing her suitcase.  She kept asking “where are we going?”  Tyler always responded with "it's for me to know and you to find out." He packed up the car, and they took off for an adventure that Melissa was clueless about.  After sitting in OU football traffic for around an hour, Melissa’s anticipation and curiosity was growing. 

Upon arriving at the hotel, Melissa was surprised to open their hotel room door to a room full of roses, rose petals, champagne, etc. Tyler proposed Saturday night in the hotel room. He got down on one knee in the middle of a heart made out of rose petals. After proposing Tyler told Melissa that he had booked the suite for Sunday night also. This was amazing because Melissa’s work office was right next door. Not only had he packed her stuff for the weekend but he also picked out her work outfit for Monday. This was definitely a treat because on Monday morning Melissa was able to sleep in a little and did not have to fight the rush hour traffic. The whole weekend was like a mini honeymoon.
